About me
Hello there!
I’m Courtney -owner of skin aesthetics clinic.
I am a fully qualified aesthetic clinician.
I chose to work as an aesthetic clinician because I wanted to make a difference to how people felt about themselves, from the inside out. I know too well how it feels to be uncomfortable in your own skin, as since the age of 10 years old I have suffered with the skin condition Vitiligo. Vitiligo is an autoimmune disorder which makes my antibodies attack the melanin in my skin, leaving me with white patches covering a large percentage of my body. This really knocked my confidence whilst I was growing up and even more so when I started to age, I would avoid having my picture taken at all costs as I felt I looked horrendous this in turn would bash my confidence further sending me on a downward spiral of self-destruction, I was stuck on a roundabout with not exits going round and round putting myself down, really hating on myself. Until one day my oldest son and I was out on one of our walks and id been whinging on about how terribly ugly I looked and felt, that my son turned to me and said, “mum I going to pay for you to have Botox for Mother’s Day”.
From that day I haven’t looked back, I trained in Aesthetics, my own skin journey has been amazing, my skin was not in good condition when I started, but with care and time I think its looks pretty good now for my age. Doing aesthetics gives me an opportunity to try treatments out on myself and I am still a working progress. I’m not overdone, and I don’t overdo the treatments in fact they are minimal. I think you learn overtime that less is more, and I think it’s important to just look refreshed and natural, so no one knows you have had anything done. They complement you on looking well or how your skin is glowing.
I’m not saying aesthetics treatments have solved all my problems, I’d be lying if I said it had, but it has helped me tremendously. I don’t feel so ugly (well I still have an issue with photos but hey I think we all do if the truth be known). I just feel better about being in my skin and I think my face looks pretty good now and it’s nice to be complemented on “oh wow you don’t look your age”. Unfortunately, there is no cure for my Vitiligo at present so it’s down to camouflage makeup for now.
So, for you as a client as my friend as a fellow human who is no doubt on the same path as me, starting a skin journey can be daunting. But I can promise you that I will take my time to hear you, see you and understand your needs. Your skin is yours it’s not the same as the last client so your treatment will be tailored to you, one size does not fit all in the world of skin treatments. I’m looking forward to meeting you in my little clinic, my consultations are free, professional but relaxed and friendly, oh and I can talk for England.
Important but boring bit below.
